Malmane Eye Private Nature Retreat is conveniently located on the tar road 40km from Lichtenburg on the Ottoshoop road. It’s an easy 25-minute drive from either Lichtenburg or Mafikeng. In addition to convenience of enjoying easy access to the tar road, the location is sufficiently distant from civilization, also bordering a conservation area, to provide the sensation of being “away from it all”

We guarantee absolute privacy and exclusive self-catering accommodation and therefore when booking your group will be the only guests. We can accommodate up to 10 guests in rooms and also have mattresses and a sleeper-couch available for children and young people.
The source of the water is a unique dolomitic spring (eyes). The water is forced to the surface from underlying aquifers through fractures and appears on the surface as "eyes".

We have the Moon stone cottage (Queen bed), Garnet Loft (Double bed) and 3 "glamping" canvas dome tents - Sapphire, (Queen bed), Emerald (2 single beds) and Amethyst (2 single beds).
The Lapa has a bar area with seating for 10 as well as 3 comfortable couches, a kitchen area with fridge, freezer, gas stove with two plates, mini oven with 2 electric plates, microwave, ice maker and kettle. A TV, Samsung bluetooth soundbar and braai facilities inside and outside the unit are at guests' disposal as well as a "konka" on the jetty.
Cast iron pots and grills are also at guests' disposal. Guests can also enjoy themselves by swimming in the fresh crystal clear waters, followed by a sundowner in the warm Jacuzzi overlooking the river, canoeing, paddle skis, jumping mat and a dart board (all provided and at your disposal). Two mountain bikes are also available. Guests may fish (bass and catfish), but must bring their own equipment.

The venue may also be booked for private functions (Birthday's kitchen tea's/bachelors, year-end functions, small weddings, reunions). The entertainment area can accommodate +- 30 guests.

A large portion of the riverside section of property is covered by wetlands to an area of approximately 17 hectares.
The prolific fish life includes large-mouth black bass, tilapia and catfish partly due to the variety of insects that occur in the area. You will also experience the reeds lightning up during night time due to fire flies/lightning bugs.
The trees that occur in the scattered forest are mainly the wild olive, sweet thorn, karee, white stinkwood and the camel thorn tree. We have spotted 75 various kinds of species of birds.
